KMS for Harman - Connected cars
2020 is the year INCERT embarked on an international project collaborating with HARMAN, one of the leading actors in automotive industry. INCERT supplies HARMAN with cryptographic Key Management System (KMS), and thus enhancing company’s cybersecurity line for connected cars.
HARMAN recognized at early-stage risks related to the increase of interconnectivity in the new era of manufacturing, and the consequent expansion of international regulations and standards, particularly for the vehicle manufacturers. Making this a priority, connected-cars components produced by HARMAN are today known for robust security. Due to the cryptographic knowledge and experience acquired in PKI, INCERT has been chosen to provide an extra layer of protection for HARMAN products.
INCERT’s tailored KMS for HARMAN was therefore born in 2020, and since then the company trusts INCERT to manage the cryptographic technologies for protecting software and communication of HARMAN's connected-car components, produced for worldwide carmaker leaders. KMS by INCERT can generate, manage, and use cryptographic keys necessary for securing communication between Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and ensuring the genuineness of software through code signing, on three continents. A successful story, where HARMAN and INCERT are above all partners, exploring the cybersecurity landscape of connected cars.
